At 19 miles from Valladolid, Valwo Park offers the possibility of knowing in depth the animal misterious world. Santiago Street which links Plaza Mayor and Plaza de Zorrilla, is traditionally the main shopping street in town.
In María de Molina Street you can visit Las Francesas, a commercial complex built in the former Convent of Comendadoras de Santa Cruz, and where you can find souvenirs, music CDs, clothes and pottery.
Traditional fairy cakes from Portillo are very typical to sweeten your palate. Of course you cannot miss to try the famous wines from Cigales, Rueda or Ribera del Duero.Clay souvenirs signed by Coello are also very typical.
The most upmarket shops are located in streets María de Molina, Héroes del Alcázar and Paseo de Zorrilla.
Campo Grande in Acera de Recoletos is the most famous park in the town. Here you can find hundred-year-old trees as well as peacocks, ducks and squirrels. You can also relax in the pergola, or by the pond with a cave from where a little cascade flows, or contemplate the Swan or The Fame Fountains, and the statues of Núñez de Arce, Rosa Chacel and Miguel Iscar.
Other parks to enjoy nature in town are Ribera de Castilla, Canterac Gardens, Las Moreras and La Rosaleda.
